Description*16 August 1915, description given as 5 ft 5.5" tall, red hair, brown eyes and fresh complexion.3 
Milit-Beg*16 August 1915, joined the Royal Navy. Prior to this had been in the Merchant Navy.3

Occupation*12 December 1919, merchant navy and rank given as Able Seaman. The ship is likely to be Appalochee, official number: 101848 as is shown on reverse of record card. Built in 1894. It is also possible this ship was renamed Duffiled as this ship has the same reference number.4
